Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to Head Delegation at the 50th Anniversary ASEAN-Australia Special Summit

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, is scheduled to lead a high-level delegation to the forthcoming ASEAN-Australia Special Summit. Set to take place in Melbourne from March 4th to 6th, 2024, the summit commemorates half a century of ASEAN-Australia dialogue relations.

Joining Prime Minister Hun Manet will be the First Lady Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, along with other prominent government officials including Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport Dr. Hangchuon Naron, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea.

The summit is poised to serve as a crucial juncture for leaders to deliberate on shared aspirations and further strengthen ties through the ASEAN-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. High on the agenda is the adoption of the Melbourne Declaration and the ASEAN-Australia Leaders' Vision Statement, which are expected to be ratified during the summit.

In addition to participating in the summit, Prime Minister Hun Manet is slated to conduct bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and various ASEAN counterparts. These meetings are geared towards bolstering bilateral relations and reinforcing Cambodia's commitment to addressing regional and global challenges through international collaboration.

The delegation's presence at the summit underscores Cambodia's dedication to contributing constructively to regional partnerships and dialogue.
